Cain Von Haus Thomson
Cain is a neutered, bicolor male. He is microchipped, fully vaccinated, and does not have registration papers. Cain needs a family that is home often. He is not a dog for a kennel or a crate. When he gets enough exercise and attention, he is well-behaved, friendly with other dogs, and safe around cats. He sometimes reacts to dogs on walks, likely because of his past lack of activity or previous medications; he is now completely unmedicated. Potential owners must live within a one-hour drive to ensure his next home is his forever home. Cain was born on May 13, 2024. He was surrendered to a shelter at eight months old because his first family couldn't handle his energy and size. After being found as a stray in 2026, we brought him back. He is a wonderful dog, but our home has too many pets for him to stay long-term. A previous adoption attempt failed because the owner couldn't keep up with his needs. Cain requires an active family that will include him in their daily life. A simple walk is not enough. If he is left in a crate or a run all day, he may become frustrated or destructive. He thrives with a family that provides the high level of mental and physical engagement a working-line German Shepherd deserves.
Cain's Daily Routine
Cain starts his morning at 8am with a supervised bathroom break in an open area. Afterward, he practices patience and self-control indoors while watching dog meals being prepared. He eats his breakfast inside a crate while the rest of the pack is fed and farm chores are completed. Around 11am, he enjoys a high-energy play session, either running in a field or playing in the yard with another dog. Cain is an extremely athletic dog who thrives on sprinting, chasing, and playing in water. To stay happy and well-behaved, he requires at least two vigorous runs every day. On days when the schedule is busy and he cannot roam freely through the house, it is vital to ensure his physical needs are met to prevent boredom.
Cain is currently living in a household with multiple children, cats and other dogs. Cain is thriving in this busy, chaotic, environment, however I feel he deserves a family that can dedicate more time to him.
